You bet your buns I read the entire thing. I only “agreed” in hopes of finding or starting a petition against some of the terms. No gore or mutilated bodies is the biggie for me I guess. I am really, really bothered by this. I realize that not everyone is cool with seeing decapitated messes or a real-gore freak accident but that is what the NSFW button is for. :/ But saying it can’t be posted all together (of human and animals btw) really truly upsets me.
I don’t go and post it all the time, I don’t host a gore blog. But I am really fascinated by real-gore and most times find it beautiful. I have a different relationship to death I guess. I post it because I like it. And now I can’t post it or I can’t use tumblr.
And as for the “no posting things that glorify self-harm.” those who have been following my blog for a while now should know how I feel about that. That is so wrong. I understand WHY but I don’t think that is fair to those who legitimately incorporate self harm into their lifestyles. Or those who vent and purge those feelings via pictures/words. Often times a blog that is all FOR things like eating disorders or self mutilation are just alter egos or a place of throwing the “naughty” thoughts so that they can lead more ‘normal’ lives outside that blog.
That is what I do.
So tumblr has managed to cut off two (quite frankly huge) means of my self expression. Gore and glorified self harm. Do I want others to kill themselves truly? Am I all for killing and spreading guts all over the streets and eating disorders? No. I’m not. I just have a different relationship with those things than others usually do. But I’m being punished for it.
I get what you’re trying to do tumblr, but you’re doing it wrong.
